ADAM is for people who are worried about their memory, have recently been diagnosed with dementia or who care for someone who has recently been diagnosed with dementia.
We use your data to understand you so that we can recommend relevant products. We do not store your data other than up to the point of identifying relevant products. We do not collect any personally identifiable data. We do not sell your data to third parties.
You don't need anything other than a bit of free time. You can complete the questionnaire by yourself, or with support from someone like a family member, carer or link worker.
All the products we recommend can be bought from high street shops or online, and most are not “specialist dementia” products. We have just identified ways that they can be used to help you get on with life. Most of them are on a par with setting up a new mobile phone, in that you'll follow a set of steps and you might need to set up an account with the supplier of the product so you can log in to access some settings. Some products are a bit more complicated to set up, and we highlight this in the product profile pages, where appropriate.
Our recommendations are unbiased. ADAM isn't trying to sell you anything, and we remain unaffiliated with any product or company listed on the site. We only recommend products which have been approved by Alzheimer Scotland's Dementia Circle, so you can be confident the products have been tested by and worked for other people with dementia and their carers.
These products have all been tried and tested by families living with dementia and the Digital Team at Alzheimer Scotland, using the Alzheimer Scotland Dementia Circle testing protocols, which give us insight to their potential usefulness for other families in similar circumstances.
If you need support or help relating to living with dementia, you can contact the Alzheimer Scotland 24hr freephone helpline on 0808 808 3000 or visit www.alzscot.org to find support in your local area.
